FRANCES LAI

Licensed Educational Psychologist/School Psychologist

I have been a school psychologist since 2007. I enjoy fostering resilience in children by being their cheerleader in school and providing guidance and care. I have worked with children and youth from preschool to high school in providing consultations to parents, teachers, and counselors, as well as conducting special education assessments.

As a school psychologist, I provide consultation and collaboration with staff and families to support student needs. Wearing multiple hats at school, I have an in-depth understanding of the services available and know how to help you navigate the system, especially the Individualized Education Program (IEP) process. As a licensed educational psychologist, I bring in additional expertise in assessments, consultation on learning differences, discover giftedness in children, develop college entrance exam (e.g., SATs) accommodations, promote emotional development, and offer EQ classes to children and families.

I  am fluent in reading, writing, and speaking Mandarin Chinese. I often contract with local school districts for bilingual assessments, and provide parent workshops on understanding children's behavior and promote parent-child communication.
